Riley Strickland – Superintendent

Riley Strickland was born in Springfield, Missouri, and has grown up and worked in the area his entire life.  A graduate of Rogersville High School, Riley was raised in the construction industry from the time he could push a broom on his grandpa’s job sites.
Grandson to the late Red Walters, a prominent, successful custom home builder and founder of Walter’s Construction, Riley cut his teeth learning concrete, framing, finish carpentry, and all other aspects of custom home construction from a 60-year master of the trade.
After graduation and a short stint at Ozarks Technical College, Riley jumped into commercial construction with both feet, working as a carpenter with a commercial general contractor that builds in and around the Springfield area.  Moving into finish carpentry, Riley’s extensive knowledge and experience made him an asset to the company, and as such was recruited by the best Springfield contractors.  Riley joined Monticello Custom Homes and Remodeling in September 2018 and shares a common philosophy of custom construction and appreciation for well-built, quality homes.

EXTREME MAKEOVER:

On May 22, 2011, an EF5 tornado blew through the center of Joplin, MO killing approximately 160 people and destroying nearly 8,000 homes. In October, ABC’s Extreme Makeover came to town to begin its biggest build ever, 7 homes in 7 days for 7 families. To accomplish this, a team of local builders was assembled to help the Joplin community and give homes to the 7 families.
Jason was tasked with leading the build on the “Bohemian Home” for Scott Ely and Natalie Gonzalez along with their son Augie whose life was saved by a bicycle helmet he was wearing. Over 13,000 volunteers and thousands of skilled workers came together to build 7 homes, as well as refurbish Cunningham Park. The build was a great success and the Elys’ have been enjoying their new home (Scott and Natalie got married while at Disney).
